What this site is
SingerBio is a reference database of artist metadata: names, dates, places, genres, line-ups, awards, release groups, tracklists and encyclopedic biographies. It is an index and a presentation layer. It does not host, store, transmit, stream or offer for download any music, recording, lyrics, video or user upload, and it has no user accounts.
Where the site links out — to streaming services, official sites, MusicBrainz, Discogs and others — those links point at content hosted by those services under their own terms.
Third-party material shown here
- Album cover art — supplied by the Cover Art Archive (coverartarchive.org), a MusicBrainz project. The artwork remains © its respective rights holders and is displayed for identification purposes only, unmodified and hot-linked from the archive; no copy is stored on this server.
- Artist portraits — files from Wikimedia Commons, each under its own licence (mostly Creative Commons Attribution or Attribution-ShareAlike). Every portrait is credited with its author and licence and links back to its Commons file page; the full list is onimage credits.
- Biographies — text from Wikipedia under CC BY-SA 4.0, credited on each page with its source article and revision id.
- Structured data — MusicBrainz (CC0), Wikidata (CC0) and named public lists; see thecoverage report for the source and licence of every field.
Reporting a copyright problem
If you believe material displayed here infringes your copyright, write to[email protected] with:
- identification of the work you own, and of the material on this site you say infringes it (URL);
- your name, address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them;
- your physical or electronic signature.
Valid notices are actioned promptly: the disputed image or record is removed or hidden from the site, and the change is deployed as soon as it is verified.
Faster route: the upstream archive
Because the images are served by third-party archives rather than by us, a request to the archive itself fixes the problem everywhere it is mirrored — including here:
- cover art → the Cover Art Archive / MetaBrainz Foundation (musicbrainz.org/doc/Cover_Art_Archive);
- portraits → the file's Commons page, linked from every credit (Wikimedia's own removal process applies);
- biography text → the Wikipedia article, which records its revisions and contributors.
Removing a record from this index does not remove it from the internet: the material continues to exist at the host that serves it, and that host must be contacted as well.
Counter-notification
If your material was removed because of a notice and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, write to the same address with your contact details, identification of the removed material and its previous location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error, and your consent to the jurisdiction of a competent court. We may restore the material if the notifier does not pursue the matter.
