Privacy policy

No accounts
This site has no registration, no login and no user profiles, and it runs no analytics of its own. What it does record is described below, and anything stored on your device is described in the next section.
What is stored on your device
One thing: the artist selection on the comparepage is kept in your browser's local storage so the picks survive a reload. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Server logs
Like any web server, the site's infrastructure (Cloudflare's edge and the origin behind it) records standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, status code — for security, abuse prevention and capacity planning. Logs are kept for a short operational window and are not used to profile visitors, and they are never sold or shared for marketing.
Third parties your browser contacts
Pages display images served by external archives, so your browser requests them directly and those hosts see your IP address and user agent under their own privacy policies:
- cover art — archive.org and coverartarchive.org (Cover Art Archive, a MusicBrainz project);
- artist portraits — commons.wikimedia.org (Wikimedia Commons).
Clicking an outbound link (a streaming service, an official site, a reference site) takes you to a service we do not control; its privacy policy applies from that point.
Data about people
The database describes public figures, and it holds only what its public sources state: stage names, birth and death years, nationality, career dates, bands, awards and works. It holds no private information, no contact details and no location data about individuals. Corrections and removal requests about a person's record are handled through[email protected].
