Terms of use

1. The service
SingerBio is a free, read-only reference database of artist metadata, assembled from public sources and presented with its provenance. There are no accounts, no uploads, no submissions and nothing to buy. Using the site means accepting these terms.
2. Accuracy — the data is a record, not a verdict
Records are compiled from Wikipedia, Wikidata, MusicBrainz and named public lists, and are reported as those sources state them. Figures such as claimed sales, chart placings, listener counts and award results are claims by a source, not independently audited facts; where a figure is implausible it is excluded rather than shown. Nothing here is professional advice, and no guarantee is given that any record is current, complete or correct.
Found an error? Write to [email protected]with the page and the correction, ideally with a source.
3. Reusing this data
The underlying facts keep the licences of their sources, which are listed per field on thecoverage report: Wikipedia biographies are CC BY-SA 4.0 and must be credited as such; MusicBrainz core data and Wikidata are CC0; MusicBrainz genre associations are CC BY-NC-SA 3.0, so reuse of those particular fields is limited to non-commercial purposes and requires credit. If you reuse this database, carry those licences with the data — including the attribution recorded in /api/artist/<slug>.json.
The site's own structure, presentation and code are ours. Automated access is welcome at a reasonable rate; do not present the API output as your own first-party dataset, and do not disguise the source of the data.
4. Third-party material and links
Cover art is supplied by the Cover Art Archive and remains © its respective rights holders; artist portraits come from Wikimedia Commons under their per-file licences (seeimage credits). Outbound links lead to services we do not control and whose terms apply. Copyright complaints are handled under thetakedown policy.
5. Availability and liability
The service is provided as is and may change or go offline without notice. To the extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its data.
6. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; the date above changes when they are. Questions:[email protected].
